Yellow fever & health for Ethiopia from Algeria

Last verified: June 2026 (EPHI / CDC / FCDO sources)

Do you need a yellow fever vaccine for Ethiopia?

A yellow fever certificate is required only if you arrive from — or transit 12h+ through — a risk country (common on flights via sub-Saharan Africa). A direct Algiers→Addis Ababa flight needs none. Since Ethiopia is itself a risk country, the vaccine is still medically recommended. Separately, a free EPHI health declaration is completed online before arrival. These rules are separate from the e-Visa.
